Working With Julia Roberts Was Nerve-racking For Jennifer Aniston Despite Their History in FRIENDS

Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts once teamed up for the 2016 feature Mother’s Day. Even though they aren’t strangers and know each other very well, Aniston feels glad she didn’t share the screen with Roberts.

The Friends star had trouble working together on Mother’s Day with Roberts. Aniston also revealed that casting in the same project with Roberts gave her a certain level of anxiety. She even made a few mistakes while filming because of Roberts’ presence.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer Aniston shared why she felt all hot and bothered by her Mother’s Day co-star. “Because it’s Julia Roberts! Oh my gosh,” Aniston remarked.

“It’s just a different thing when you get to work with them and then you’re doing what you both do, [but] together,” Aniston continued. “I even flubbed in the first take and called her Julia!”

It’s not only with Aniston. Even Roberts felt the same way. The Pretty Woman star also revealed that she was starstruck by Aniston’s beauty. Roberts quipped that even though they’d worked on the same project, she was grateful that she didn’t have to share screen time with her co-star. As Roberts told Allue (via Daily Mail):

“[Jennifer Aniston is] so hot. I’m glad I don’t have any scenes with her in Mother’s Day. She’s too gorgeous. Look at us [at the SAG Awards] holding hands like little lovebirds. She’s a lovely girl.”

Mother’s Day is not the first project both actresses worked together. They have also teamed up in the famous sitcom.

Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts also worked together on the famous NBC sitcom. Fans of Friends will easily recognize who Roberts was in the show. Julia Roberts played Susie Moss, who dates Chandler in The One After The Superbowl, Part 2.

Another interesting fact is that Matthew Perry played a huge role in her recruitment for the role. According to Friends co-creator Kevin Bright, Roberts asked Perry to write her an essay. Bright said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“Matthew asked her to be on the show. She wrote back to him, ‘Write me a paper on quantum physics, and I’ll do it.’ My understanding is that Matthew went away and wrote a paper and faxed it to her the next day.”

So, it’s clear that both Aniston and Roberts worked together on two projects so far. But the Deadline also reported that both the Hollywood actresses are also working with each other in an upcoming comedy.
