SCARLET WITCH Movie Rumored To Be In The Works; Updates On VISION QUEST, WICCAN, And More

In WandaVision, we saw Wanda Maximoff finally become the Scarlet Witch.

However, her evolution ended on a tragic note when she was forced to drop the Hex around Westview and say goodbye to The Vision and her children, Tommy and Billy.

By the time Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness rolled around, the Darkhold had corrupted the Avenger and she went on a rampage through countless realities in an effort to find Variants of her twin boys.

Verging on being a full-blown villain by the time all was said and done, Wanda eventually saw the error of her ways and appeared to bury herself beneath Wundagore after using her powers to destroy every possible copy of the Darkhold throughout the Multiverse.

Of course, a red flash suggested she might have escaped!

We've been hearing rumblings for a while now that there are plans for the Scarlet Witch, possibly in some sort of follow-up TV series or "Special Presentation." Well, according to scooper Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios wants it to be a movie and is eyeing WandaVision and Agatha's Jac Schaeffer to write and direct.

This makes perfect sense, particularly as the character remains incredibly popular; heck, it may well even be the adaptation of "The Children's Crusade" we've been hearing so much about since WandaVision ended.

In related news, Doctor Strange 3 is another mystical movie reportedly in active development with Sam Raimi eyed to direct.

Complicating matters is the fact he's also a contender to helm Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars

Both Wonder Man and Vision Quest are likely to be standalone limited series, while Wiccan remains in development as a likely lead-in to this Scarlet Witch movie.

Back to that character, it was earlier this year when Elizabeth Olsen said, "Specifically in the last four years, my output has been Marvel. I don’t want...it’s not that I don’t want to be associated as just this character. But I really feel like I need to be building other parts back up for balance."

"I so much want to do films right now. And I hope some of them come together in the way I feel like they can. But yeah, that’s something that I need. I just need other characters in my life. There’s no longevity in one character."

Chances are that if the Scarlet Witch movie doesn't serve as Olsen's farewell to the character, then one of the next Avengers movies will.
