Real Boston Richey is calling on Drake for help after sneaker resalers scammed him with two right shoes of Drizzy’s Certified Lover Boy Nike Air Force 1s.
Taking to Instagram to show off the swindle, Richey tagged Drake in his story to “get me right big bruh” because “they doing me wrong.”
“Man you gotta fix this,” Richey says in the accompanying video. “I can’t even splash how I want to. These fuck n-ggas stay selling me two rights. And y’all ain’t even put the beads in the box. Now I gotta go regular white lows.
“I’m tryna splash on them [with the] Drake muthafuckas. Aye listen man – all you hoe ass n-ggas, you resale ass fuck n-ggas. Y’all n-ggas — next time you n-ggas sell me two rights, gettin’ your ass robbed!”
The kicks look like regular all-white Air Force 1s but with the phrase “Love you forever” etched onto the midsole in elegant cursive font, among other minor tweaks.
While “Love you forever” appeared at first to be a nod to the title of Drake’s Certified Lover Boy LP, the motif actually carries a deeper meaning that dates back to the rapper’s childhood.
It’s actually a nod to a children’s book titled Love You Forever, written by Robert Munsch and illustrated by Sheila McGraw. Published in 1986, the book centers on a mother who sings a lullaby to her son at each stage of his life — making the collab a tribute to his mother.
“Love You Forever AF1 dedicated to my incredible mother and our favourite book,” Drake revealed in November. The shoe is a collaboration between Nike and Drake’s sub-label with the sports giant, NOCTA, whose logo appears above the heel and on the insole.
After a lengthy wait, the CLB AF1s finally hit shelves on December 2 – but almost immediately sold out, hence Real Boston Richey having to buy them from a resaler. Drake has been known to gift the kicks in the past – previously giving a pair to BfB Da Packman to congratulate him on his weight-loss journey – so perhaps Richey’s plea will be answered.
