Billboard: Nicki Minaj Breaks Tie with Drake To Become Rapper with Most #1 Digital Hits

Barely a month after Nicki Minaj made headlines for tying the all-time record for most #1 digital hits (thanks to her out-of-the-box smash ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’), the Rap Queen has become the title’s sole owner.

Details inside.

Young Money cohorts Drake and Nicki Minaj are no strangers to making and breaking Billboard records.

Already sitting in the Hot 100’s history books as the most-decorated male and female rappers, the two also waved the flag for Hip-Hop on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart as its leading male and female emcees. For a brief moment the ‘Moment 4 Life’ co-stars were even tied as the rappers with the most #1 singles in the tally’s 18-year history.

That changed this week when Nicki entered atop the hitlist with the Ice Spice-led ‘Princess Diana (Remix)’ thanks to whopping sales of 77,000.

Marking the 14th time the Rap Queen has ruled over the Digital Song Sales listing over her illustrious career, the #1 debut of ‘Princess’ broke her tie with Drizzy and makes her the rapper with the most toppers on the chart overall.

Among all artists, only Rihanna (14) and Taylor Swift (25) have as many or more.
