Avril Lavigne wants to clear up the rumors surrounding her health.
The 30-year-old “Hello Kitty” singer and wife to Chad Kroeger, with whom she’s faced divorce rumors, has been plagued by headlines questioning her health in recent weeks. She shot down speculation that she’s been in rehab, tweeting late Tuesday: “The rehab RUMORS are hilarious!”
In early December, snapshots of a private direct message between Lavigne and a fan surfaced, reports E! News. The rocker told the fan, “I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I’ve been absent.”
The conversation continued, with Lavigne noting that she is a very private person. “I’m not feeling well,” she continued. “I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”
Days later, she tweeted a message of thanks, appearing to confirm issues with her health.
Her reps confirmed to Billboard that she isn’t pregnant but failed to elaborate on a potential illness.
Despite debunking rehab rumors, Lavigne seems to be in good spirits, posting numerous Christmas photos on Tuesday and Wednesday.
