Avril Lavigne is embracing her "Sk8er Boi" style roots.

On Tuesday, the Canadian pop-punk icon took to Instagram with a carousel of edgy photos from a recent photoshoot for Numéro Magazine.

In the snaps, Lavigne posed with a skateboard, wearing a black, oversized graphic t-shirt, paired with a matching long-sleeve dress underneath and black combat boots. The "Complicated" singer also donned thigh-high stiletto boots, with black fishnet stockings and a long black leather coat. She finished off her look with her signature smokey eyeliner.

Lavigne kept her caption short, mentioning Numéro's Instagram account alongside two heart emojis.

In the comments, the singer's post was met with praise from fans for her latest cover.

"The outfits and the skateboard, yes!," an Instagram user wrote, while another added, "Rockstar princess vibes! Love."

"Sk8er girl!," someone else commented with a heart emoji.

"Omg, this photoshoot is amazing, you rock!," another fan penned.

One person chimed in: "This is a slay."

In March 2022, fans applauded Lavigne for making it onto the front cover of Associated Press for their "Modern Icons Issue," after she shared a set of Instagram photos from the photoshoot.

"F—- yes, Alternative Press!" she captioned the post before fans rushed to her comments.

"I wholeheartedly agree, you are a modern icon, Miss Avril. Never change," one fan commented.

"Love these photos so much. You're so beautiful and ageless! A true legend," someone else added.

"This photoshoot! OMG!," another fan replied.

In the paired interview, Lavigne said that there is a common misconception that she's going to be mean-spirited because of her intimidating appearance, but people are often surprised that she's friendly and kind. The singer said she's had to become "tough" to make it in the music industry.

"I’m stubborn and strong-willed and strong-minded, and if I feel a certain way, I stick to it. I’m constantly fighting. I’ve been fighting since day one to write my own songs," she said. "I had to fight my whole career to write the type of music I wanted to write."
